During the old civilization, Peruvians used to ride Llamas as a means of transportation instead of horses. Their manure was also used as fertilizer, fuel, and material to make ceramic. Alpacas were used as a source of meat and wool. Today, however, they stand more like a tourist sight. They can be seen hanging around ancient sites such as Machu Picchu.
